We had wonderful dreams on our cruise from Port Canaveral (Florida) to Nassau (Bahamas) or rather Disney Castaway Cay (Disney Island). Port Canaveral: This port is the home of the Kennedy Space and just around „the corner“. And this port is also just one hour away from Walt Disney World Resort. Nassau, Bahamas: Former pirate territory, this island capital dazzles with its colonial charm, tropical beaches and unique shopping. After a great day in Nassau, we could enjoy the Pirate Night on our cruise. At 6:01 p.m. EDT, or 22:01 UTC, on Thursday, July 25, SpaceX launched its eighteenth Commercial Resupply Services mission (CRS-18) from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. Dragon separated from Falcon 9’s second stage about nine minutes after liftoff and will attach to the space station on Saturday, July 27. We watched the Launch at our apartment at the Cape Crossing Resort & Marina. Some Video-Sequences are from SpaceX and Nasa. Thank you.

Bureau of Engraving and Printing: Located in the heart of the Nation's Capital, the BEP's Washington, DC Tour and Visitor Center is a great place to learn all about U.S. paper currency.  We saw dollars being printed as we walked along the gallery overlooking the production floor (no photos allowed by law)! The Monument or rather the Washington Monument: Built to honor George Washington, the United States' first president, the 555-foot marble obelisk towers over Washington, D.C. Unfortunately, the Washington Monument was closed to visitors to allow for modernization of the elevator. Lincoln Memorial - Savior of the Union: "In this temple, as in the hearts of the people for whom he saved the Union, the memory of Abraham Lincoln is enshrined forever." Beneath these words, the 16th President of the United States sits immortalized in marble as an enduring symbol of unity, strength, and wisdom.

Washington DC 🇺🇸 DC stands for „District of Columbia“ (but is not a state). The White House is the president‘s private home. In 1791, George Washington picked the location but never lived there. The second president (John Adams) moved into the White House. The Capitol is where Congress meets to vote on new laws. It‘s located in the center of Washington DC. The Library of Congress is the largest one in the world. They have about 1.6 million items in their collection (37 million books or rather print materials). The Smithsonian Institution is a group of different museums and galleries and a zoo (including research centers). Its goal is to share knowledge. And in Washington DC, there are awesome Monuments and Memorials, the National Archives and much more.

Independence Hall 🇺🇸 Liberty Bell and Area

Great Tour at Independence Hall. We saw the room where the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were both signed.

Brooklyn to Coney Island

Coney Island and the the famous Nathan's. The tradition began at a Coney Island hot dog stand over 100 years ago.
